We have been working on mAiTasks for the past several months, and today we are excited to share it with the world. mAiTasks is a task management platform built around a simple idea: your tools should understand you, not the other way around. Instead of filling out rigid forms and clicking through menus, you describe what you need in plain language — or just say it out loud — and the system does the rest.
What makes it different
At its core, mAiTasks uses natural language processing to turn your thoughts into structured, actionable tasks. Say something like “Call Sarah about the project tomorrow at 3pm, high priority” and the AI extracts the title, deadline, priority, and relevant tags automatically. No manual data entry, no context switching. We support both text and voice input through Groq Whisper transcription with a Web Speech API fallback, so you can capture ideas however feels most natural in the moment.
But task capture is only the beginning. mAiTasks also includes a full research automation pipeline — scrape web content from multiple providers, deduplicate results, and synthesize findings into structured reports with proper citations. You can schedule research jobs on recurring schedules, so the system continuously gathers and organizes information on topics you care about. A unified feed reader aggregates your RSS subscriptions and Gmail newsletters into a single, searchable stream. Everything connects back to your task list.
Built for the long run
We designed mAiTasks as a modular system with a plugin architecture that makes it straightforward to add new integrations over time. The codebase is a monorepo with a React frontend, a Fastify backend, real-time updates over WebSockets, and PostgreSQL for persistence. We chose this stack because it gives us the flexibility to iterate quickly while keeping things reliable and maintainable. Security is not an afterthought — JWT authentication, rate limiting, audit logging, and GDPR compliance are built in from day one.
